The creative dominance of intellect
Over the years, it has always been taught to us the intellect and rationality of man makes us supreme. However, the claim of superiority is then again, just a product of the dog-eat world. Even our desperate need to find a reason to be over someone or some kind is a sheer manifestation of instinct and primitive hunch.
The society abolished the rights of the animals for political and religious reasons. We do not need a quantitative evidence to say that to care for an animal is to spend more in the government funds. We do not need thorough analysis to prove that the Old Religion is now a taboo, and even branded by the Catholics as “Paganism”, a major belief for the uncivilized barbarians. Liberty is limited based on the criterion of the majority. And the majority has decided that Man is domesticator of the earth. Since Man has played his role poorly, our companion species consequently suffered the misfortune.
It is rather sad to hear people say that we need not focus on animal rights, because we have to focus on a more substantial matter, that concerns US. It is sad to realize that even in constitutional affairs, apartheid, greed and pride is still evident. The truth of the matter is: we are creative enough to establish the dominance of intellect as a measure of superiority, and to finally claim that we are the sole creature who are able. We think, therefore, we are. Feelings and empathy comes after.
It’s a bad world we’re living in. But you don’t have to feel bad, you are required to think good.
